WeWork Japan、広島市と共にスタートアップ・ 共創エコシステムの形成を本格始動

フレキシブルオフィス WeWork を日本国内で展開するWWJ株式会社（本社：東京都港区、代表取締役社長 兼 CEO：熊谷 慶太郎、以下「WeWork Japan*1」）は、広島市と共にスタートアップ・共創エコシステムの形成を本格始動します。

それに伴い、2027年9月にオープン予定の中国・四国地方初となる拠点名を「WeWork カミハチクロス（KAMIHACHI X）広島」に決定しました。また、オープンに先立ち、広島市中区の広島商工会議所ビル内に「WeWork 広島ショールーム」を2026年8月1日に開設します。「WeWork 広島ショールーム」では、実際の WeWork の空間デザインのイメージを内覧いただけるほか、スタートアップや地域企業を対象とした交流イベントや共創プログラムの開催も予定しています。

さらに、WeWork Japanは、広島市が今年度からスタートする「企業間連携・スタートアップ支援推進事業」に採択されました。本事業では、全国の WeWork のコミュニティ形成ノウハウとスタートアップネットワークを活用し、地元企業とのオープンイノベーション促進に取り組みます。

WeWork Japanは、広島市との「スタートアップ支援および企業誘致などの推進に関する連携協定」を基に、「WeWork カミハチクロス広島」を中核としたスタートアップ・共創エコシステムの形成を推進し、広島から全国、そして世界へとつながる新たなイノベーション創出を目指します。

本事業では、WeWork が全国で培ってきたコミュニティ形成やオープンイノベーション創出のノウハウを活用し、「HIROSHIMA Co-Creation HUB ~ひろハブ~」をテーマに、広島広域都市圏企業と全国のスタートアップとの連携促進や、新たな事業創出を支援します。

2026年度において、全3回のイベントを開催する予定です。

第1回：キックオフ：ものづくり企業×スタートアップ 相互ピッチ＆共創ミートアップ

2026年9月、広島の強みであるものづくり産業をテーマに、地元企業による課題提示とスタートアップによるビジネスピッチを行う「ものづくり×スタートアップ」を開催します。

第2回：広島クリエーター・コミュニティナイト

2026年11月、企業・スタートアップ・クリエイター・学生など多様な人材が交流する「クリエーター・コミュニティナイト」を実施し、起業や共創の裾野拡大を目指します。

第3回：広島チャレンジピッチ：未来を創る共創の集大成

2027年2月、地域課題解決や新たな事業創出をテーマとした「広島チャレンジピッチ」を開催し、広島発の挑戦を全国へ発信していきます。

また、イベント開催だけでなく、WeWork のコミュニティマネージャーによる企業間マッチングのプロセスを通じて、継続的なコミュニティ形成を推進します。地元企業、大企業、スタートアップ、学生など、地域と全国の境界を越えた多様な主体が集う、新たな共創拠点づくりに取り組んでまいります。

「WeWork 広島ショールーム」では、 WeWork の空間デザインのイメージを内覧できるほか、広島市との連携事業やスタートアップ支援プログラムと連動し、企業向け内覧会やコミュニティイベントなどを開催することで、2027年9月の「WeWork カミハチクロス広島」オープンに先立ち、広島における共創コミュニティの形成を推進してまいります。

「WeWork カミハチクロス広島」は、広島市中心部の紙屋町・八丁堀エリアに誕生するランドマークタワー「カミハチクロス（KAMIHACHI X）」内に2027年9月開設予定の、中国・四国地方初となるWeWork拠点です。

行政・金融・商業が集積する広島の中枢エリアに位置し、街に開かれたオープンスペースや商業施設、広島商工会議所、ラグジュアリーホテル「アンダーズ 広島」などを備えた複合施設の17階が WeWork フロアとなります。

WWJ Corp. (“WeWork Japan *1”), the operator of WeWork’s flexible workspace business in Japan, today announced the official launch of a startup and co-creation ecosystem initiative together with the City of Hiroshima. 

In conjunction with this initiative, WeWork Japan also announced that its first location in the Chugoku and Shikoku region, scheduled to open in September 2027, will be named “WeWork KAMIHACHI X Hiroshima”. 

Ahead of the location’s opening, WeWork Japan will also launch the WeWork Hiroshima Showroom on August 1, 2026, inside the Hiroshima Chamber of Commerce and Industry Building. This WeWork Hiroshima Showroom will offer visitors an opportunity to experience WeWork’s workspace design while serving as a venue for networking events, startup programs and business collaboration activities that will begin cultivating the local innovation community well before the permanent location opens.

In addition, WeWork Japan has been selected to participate in Hiroshima City’s Business Collaboration and Startup Support Promotion Program, a new initiative launching this fiscal year to foster open innovation between established companies and startups.

Building on its collaboration agreement with the City of Hiroshima to promote startup support and business attraction, WeWork Japan will work alongside the City of Hiroshima to leverage its nationwide community-building know-how and startup network to create an innovation ecosystem centered around WeWork KAMIHACHI X Hiroshima, connecting regional businesses with startups, investors and partners across Japan and internationally.

As part of the program, WeWork Japan will launch “HIROSHIMA Co-Creation HUB (HiroHub)”, an initiative designed to accelerate collaboration between companies across the Greater
Hiroshima metropolitan area and startups from throughout Japan.

Drawing on WeWork’s experience building entrepreneurial communities and facilitating open
innovation nationwide, the initiative will support new business creation through networking,
knowledge exchange and business matching.

Three flagship events are planned during FY2026:

Session 1: Manufacturing × Startup Reverse Pitch & Co-Creation Meetup

September 2026

The kickoff event will showcase Hiroshima’s manufacturing sector, bringing together local
companies to present business challenges while startups pitch innovative technologies and
solutions.

Session 2: Hiroshima Creator Community Night

November 2026

An open networking event bringing together entrepreneurs, creators, corporations, startups,
students and other members of the local innovation community to encourage entrepreneurship and cross-sector collaboration.

Session 3: Hiroshima Challenge Pitch: Co-Creating the Future

February 2027

A showcase highlighting startups and collaborative projects addressing regional challenges
while presenting Hiroshima-born innovation to a nationwide audience.

Beyond these events, WeWork’s Community Team will facilitate ongoing business matching and relationship-building among participating organizations. By connecting startups, corporations, universities, government organizations and local stakeholders, WeWork Japan aims to establish a sustainable innovation community that extends beyond regional boundaries.

Opening on August 1, 2026, the WeWork Hiroshima Showroom will provide visitors with a preview of WeWork’s signature workspace experience while serving as a gathering place for business networking events, startup programs and community activities developed in partnership with the City of Hiroshima.

The showroom will play a key role in building Hiroshima’s innovation community ahead of the opening of WeWork KAMIHACHI X Hiroshima in September 2027.

WeWork KAMIHACHI X Hiroshima will become WeWork’s first location in Japan’s Chugoku and Shikoku region when it opens in September 2027 on the 17th floor of KAMIHACHI X, a landmark mixed-use development in Hiroshima’s Kamiyacho–Hatchobori district.

Located in the heart of Hiroshima’s business and administrative center, KAMIHACHI X will integrate commercial facilities, public spaces, the Hiroshima Chamber of Commerce and Industry, government institutions and the luxury lifestyle hotel Andaz Hiroshima, creating one of the city’s premier destinations for business and innovation.
